Lionel Messi will face no further action from the UEFA disciplinary committee following the incident at the Etihad Stadium.
Messi is not known to bite back at opponents, but he has shown a bit of a fiery side recently – demonstrated when he antagonized Valencia fans in the recent 3-2 win after they threw objects at his teammates at the Mestalla stadium.
Messi was clearly not happy with referee Viktor Kassai at half time and that continued at full time when he felt Sergio Aguero had handled the ball seconds before Ilkay Gundogan’s late strike.
That prompted talk of a bust-up with a Manchester City player in the tunnel.
But nothing of such was mentioned in the official match report hence no further action is expected from UEFA.
