Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi is set to undergo a medical today as he nears a move to Chinese Super League side Tianjin TEDA.
Mikel, 29, has been offered a package worth around £140,000 per week to become the latest player to swap Europe for Chinese Super League.
He held talks with Valencia, while Marseille and Inter Milan also showed interest, but Tianjin are now at the front of the queue.
Mikel has not made the match day squad this season though he has been training with the first team. Mikel has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge with Kante, Matic, Fabregas and Chalobah all ahead of him since the arrival of Antonio Conte.
Mikel is second longest serving member of Chelsea first team behind John Terry. In his eleven years association with the club, he won 2 premier league title, one champions league trophy, one Europa league trophy and four FA Cups.
A three-year deal is understood to have been offered to him.
Terms are yet to be finalised but we understand it’s long gone enough for him to undergo a medical.
