West Ham continued their woeful start in their  Olympic Stadium last night as they lost 0:5 to rampaging Manchester City.

Manchester City scored their first of the night through Yaya Toure with a penalty in the 33rd minute after Angelo Ogbonna was adjudged to have tripped Pablo Zabaleta in box.

In the space of 17 minutes, Manchester City scored three more goals through Aguero (50′), Silva (43′) and Nordtveit who scored an own-goal in the 41st minute when he was unable to clear a well timed cross from Sagna.

The second half was reduced to a training session and if not Winston Reid who came with his training boots, Man city would have hit double figures.  John Stones completed the humiliation in the 84th minute when he heads in his first Man City goal.
Manchester City diamond midfield  with Zabaleta as the base gave them huge confidence in their passing game.

Zabaleta was very effective and efficient in that position.  He played with so much composure and his bust of speed helped break down West Ham defense. Zabaleta might be the missing piece in Man City midfield and if he continues with such contribution, the smile and cheers on Guardiola’s face last night, will remain for a long time to come.
