Southampton 1 Liverpool 0, EFL first semi final.

Southampton came out with fire in their belly and scored their first and only goal in the 20th minute through Nathan Redmond who was superb all through the match.
Redmond would had scored more,if not for the heroic of Karius who came with his gloves, the match would have ended at St Marys.

Liverpool were awful in their defending especially Klavan who made a school boy error for Redmond to score. Their attack lack bite with Sturridge in Van Dijk’s pocket, they looked ordinary.
Redmond said ‘I should have had four today, on another day they might go in but we got the win in the first leg, so will take it on to the second leg now,’ he told Sky Sports.

‘I think probably the first one or the last one (was the most frustrating), I didn’t realise how much time I had.
‘The last one I tried to be a bit too smart and try and chip it over him but I learn from those mistakes and try to put it right in training and in the next game.
‘As Virg (Van Dijk) said, we got the clean sheet and the win in the first leg, so we take that on in the second one.’
‘I haven’t worked hard like that in a long time but you know, it’s credit due to the whole team,’ he said.

‘It’s what’s needed for not just going forward but defensively, one to 11 and even the subs coming on, we’ve all got to work hard for each other and we did that today.’
