Wayne Rooney 31, signed for Manchester United in 2004 for a reported fee of £25.6 million from Everton. Then, it was a huge fee for a player that is just 18 years old. Sir Alex Ferguson made it known then that it was big task convincing the board to shell out such huge amount for a young player.
