Chelsea welcome back Diego Costa in their line-up and he performed excellently.
Chelsea began the game with a strong intent right from the first minute when Costa chest-down the ball and fired a low drive shot but it went wide. Chelsea continued pressing but Marco Silva’s men were up to the task of the day.
In the 11th minute, Gary Cahill had a head collision with Ryan Mason who came out worst of the two. Mason was seriously injured and Hull medics had to support him with the oxygen before he was carried out on the stretcher.
The referee Neil Swarbrick added 9 minutes after the first 45 minutes to make up the time for Ryan Mason treatment. 7 minutes into the first half added minutes, Victor Moses had a good run down the right and made a cut back to lay the ball for Costa who hit the ball to bottom right corner to give Chelsea the lead in the 52 minute of the first half (that is 45 +7).
Hull city started very well in the second half and had a penalty appeal turned down by the referee but replay shows that Alonso caught Abel Hernandez on his left foot. They produced some flashy moments especially with Maguire whose shot nearly caught Courtois off-guide.
In the 71st minute, Fabregas replaced Hazard who had a quiet evening and in the 80th minute, his fellow substitute Willian was brought down and the king of assist Fabregas curled in a perfect free kick to the head of Cahill who heads home to double Chelsea’s advantage. Fabregas is now third on all time premier league assist and one more, he will equal Frank Lampard’s records who is on second and Ryan Giggs is first.
Chelsea’s win extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
On other results, Southampton beat Leicester city (Southampton 3 Leicester 0) and ten men Arsenal defeated Burnley (Arsenal 2-1 Burnley).
