Leicester City recorded their first win in the premier league for the year 2017 with an emphatic victory against title chasing Liverpool side at the King Power stadium.

Leicester City players played with the intent to win and Vardy who before now was a shadow of himself put up a man of the match performance. He exploited Liverpool backline when Marc Albrighton put in a perfect through ball and he used his pace to beat Matip and Lucas to score in the 28th minute. The goal encouraged them to press more higher up the pitch and the trio of Ndidi, Drinkwater and Albrighton were superb in the midfield. They stifled and won every duel in that midfield especially Ndidi who had his best performance in Leicester City shirt last night. The second goal came six minutes before the break in what I consider a goal of the season contender, when Liverpool stand in captain James Milner headed the ball out of his 18 yard box only for Drinkwater to volley in the ball from 25 yards to give the Foxes a deserved two goals lead.

Liverpool came out blazing in the second half but the determination and motivation of the Leicester City players out weighs the reds quest for a comeback. Just on the hour mark, Mahrez chased a loosed ball down the left side and found Fuchs who made an excellent run. He put in an inch perfect with his less favorite right leg for Vardy to score his second for the night in what is a dream start for Craig Shakespeare at the dug out. Coutinho pulled one back for Liverpool eight minutes later but they failed to raise their game in the remaining minutes to cause Leicester City any sort of worry.

The win took Leicester City all the way to 15th on the premier league table, two points above Crystal Palace in the 18th and Liverpool missed opportunity of moving into 3rd position with their dismal display at king power stadium.
